The Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County (HSDMC) will receive all proceeds from Dog Days of Summer.
About the charity
The Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County originated June 21, 1923. They are a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and are a no-kill facility. HSMDC's primary goals are to reduce pet overpopulation, and, find forever loving homes for the sick, injured, abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in Decatur and Macon County that come into our facility.

When the closure of Homeward Bound Pet Shelter was announced, Team Yoga4Cats realized that the Dog Days of Summer event on August 27, 2016 was already partially planned. We asked if we could take on this fundraising event to benefit the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County as a volunteer event.
We chose the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County (HSDMC) because they operate with a philosophy that closely aligns with what we love about HBPS. At this time, they are the only no kill shelter in Decatur and Macon County. Homeless pets in our area will most certainly still be in need after HBPS is no longer operating.

Abbie and Rylee were both adopted from Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.
